Unity 2.0

Unity 2.0

After the success of our first Unity project in Moorgate, we’ve decided to do it all over again. This time, down by the river at Walbrook Wharf, just behind Cannon Street Station. Fun fact: Walbrook Wharf used to be the City of London Corporation offices, but now we’re working our Unity magic, collaborating with some of our favourite brands and can’t wait to show you the finished result.

Walbrook Wharf is a great location in terms of transport connections and amenities. We’re a two-minute walk from Cannon Street mainline and underground station, five minutes from Bank and less than fifteen minutes from both London Bridge and Fenchurch Street stations – well connected from all angles, making our future clients’ commute that little bit easier.

Since works have begun, we’ve been exploring the area… getting through the list of restaurant recommendations we’d been given, checking-out the local gyms and, of course, hunting down the best bars in the area. We’ve put together a list of some of our favourite findings and those we’re super glad to have on our brand-new doorstep:

Brigadiers is an Indian barbecue restaurant and sports bar, owned by the same family as Gymkhana (another of our favourites). We’d heard great things about the menu so couldn’t wait to try, put it this way… we certainly didn’t leave disappointed or hungry. A couple of standout dishes for us were the Green Peppercorn Malai Chicken Chops and Nepali Bhutwa Lamb Belly Ribs – so juicy and full of flavour. Not only was the food excellent, but we loved the fact there are lots of different rooms, one to play pool, one to drink beer… a great spot for a team or client night out we think!

Gymbox gyms are ultra-trendy with all the best equipment and real variety of classes (yoga, barre, spin, even contortion and aerial hoop!) so we were delighted to find one next door to Cannon Street Station. We’ve always found it easier to commit to a gym session when it doesn’t involve going home first, so with this handy neighbour, our clients will be able to fit in a workout before, during or after work, just a few minutes away from the office.

Kym’s is the Chinese restaurant you’ve probably seen on social media with its pretty pink cherry tree dominating the bar area, modern interior and immaculately presented plates. Every recommendation we received for Kym’s was centred around their much-loved (and much Instagrammed) crispy pork belly and soy chicken, so of course, that’s what we tried, and loved. We were excited to learn about the Grab & Go menu – perfect for when you want the Kym’s experience out in the sunshine or at your desk, one we’re sure our clients will love.

The Listing just across the road from us on Bush Lane, and our new go-to when we fancy a chilled drink after work. The interior is super airy and spacious, and the beautiful furniture speaks to us on a décor-obsessed level… we could definitely see some of their chairs and accessories in a Unity office space! They’ve got a pretty extensive cocktail menu with all the classics and a tasty bar menu to go with it. French Martinis and mini burgers, yes please!

Caravan City is our new favourite breakfast spot, for this reason, three words: green skillet eggs. It’s a simple combination of edamame, stem broccoli, chard, miso verde and coriander, topped with a runny egg and we can’t get enough. Not to mention, they’ve got brilliant coffee… ideal for breakfast “meetings”. We can see ourselves gradually making our way through the entire menu, watch this space (and our Instagram feed).

F45 classes are not for the faint-hearted. We were well and truly put through our paces and felt the burn like never before during an intense circuit class that lasted 45 mins. F45 classes are team-based and no workout is ever repeated, so every time you visit will be a unique (and extremely satisfying) experience. With all the amazing restaurants and doughnut shops popping up across The City, we need a class like this to burn off the calories!
